Jacob Schulmeyer: 17, Eastbourne, UK – https://instagram.com/pxrtrait/
Jacob is a young photographer we stumbled across on instagram and were instantly drawn to his photos, his style and more impressively his passion for photography. Jacob is a 17 year old from Eastbourne who wants to bring positive vibes through his photography, an idea that was inspired by another young photographer Ollie Ritchie from Australia (https://instagram.com/ritchieollie).
Jacob’s favourite shoot location is in the forest where he is free to be creative without any hassle, as well as take in the serenity and calm of the outdoors. We feel he has a real eye for capturing a scene and a moment. His forest photos give that sense that there is such peace and quiet where he is shooting.
We had a quick catch up with Jacob to get some of his thoughts about his photography
How would you describe your photography style?
I find that my style varies between abstract portrait photography using abstract photo montages and relaxing and aesthetic nature photography. For me, photography is about showing others parts of the world that they may not be able to see in person, and to show those places in an optimistic light.
Where do you see your photography taking you in the future?
I want my photography to lead to nature photography for independent companies and possibly even underwater scuba orientated photography for larger companies such as the BBC or even National Geographic (my dream and largest drive to continue my work).
Have you started experimenting with any other types of photography?
I’ve also taken to start cinematography and visually aesthetic montages of forests and my journeys to extend my knowledge of moving image as well as standard photography.
What excites you the most about Pakk?
The thing that excites me about Pakk is the fact that I will soon be able to buy a fashionable yet practical camera bag with plenty of space. I’m excited to experiment with the style of the camera bag and to use that in some of my photos (especially of ones in nature, as the bag’s style fits in perfectly with the nature photography genre). I also look forward to seeing the company increase in popularity and to see what they have planned in the future!
At Pakk we want to support talented up and coming photographers and we would encourage you to do that same. Please give Jacob a follow and acknowledge his talents. If you know any other up and coming photographers in Europe you would like to see featured email us: firstname.lastname@example.org
